2 Foot tall stuffed penguinJul 03, 2010

The penguin is huge! (2 feet tall). We bought him to take to Penguins games, and he is now wearing a penguins scarf. It's perfect. He was the only one that looked like an actual emperor penguin that I could find. I would definitely recommend for this use, and for anyone looking to have an almost life-size penguin in their house. It could be a great gift for a child who likes penguins!

We got this for my son last Christmas and he still loves it. It is quite realistic, very soft and durable. He sleeps with it sometimes and it has been thrown around and laid on while watching tv. I think I paid about $40 for it but I would say its worth it.

I was buying this present for my GF (who is like 27) but she's a huge penguin fanatic so it worked. I make this point because I can't comment on a child's receptivity to it.
1. It really is huge (looks bigger than 24" for some reason...)
2. It's much more plush than I expected. Remember those cheap, crappy carnival stuffed animals from when we were kids that are so tightly full of bean junk that you can't squeeze them and they make that crunchy sound when you do? Yeah this isn't anything like that, the fabric is soft and the inside material is incredibly plush. We vacuum sealed it in a bag to fit it into a suitcase for going home and it got REALLY flat. (It also returned to original size and shape when we took it out)
Incidentally it cleans up pretty well too. My parents smoke and the GF wanted that smell out of it so when we got it home we just cleaned it up with some makeup removal pads. I'm not sure I'd throw it in the washer, though. It has to be the first and last time I will ever use a makeup removal pad (hopefully...)
I can't imagine a kid wouldn't love this if they like penguins. The beak is a little pointy for very small children though, it's the only thing on the penguin that's not super soft.
