3It does not look the same as the picture!Dec 24, 2010
By Renee Howard
Overall, I'm slightly disappointed in this buy. The price is good, however, I've been collecting some of the muppets and fraggles for a while, and this one does not even come close to the quality of the older ones I have. It has no support, (it does sit up fine by itself even without support), the eyes are cloth and are sewn on in a way where Red looks like she's looking straight down instead of forward, her hair looks nothing like the stock photo and her mouth is not even reinforced with a hard lining underneath.

In short, it is a great buy for your children, just not so much for a hardcore collector.
It is slightly-better-than-basic stuffed animal. I would recommend to a hard core collector looking for a different one.

Also, I added a picture next to the stock photo with some highlighted text to better explain.

We bought this doll for our one year old daughter who loves to watch Fraggle Rock. She absolutely loves her doll and dances and runs around with her all day long!

5Good Buy in My OpinionFeb 21, 2011
By Rebekah Spidell
I got the Wembley plush made by this same company and have been looking at the other fraggles as well. I finally caved and gor Red and was very please with what I got. one thing I was worried about was that the stock picture on Amazon makes her look kinda deranged. The actual doll is more mild looking and looks more like Red. Her pigtails look like pigtails not like someone glued pom poms to her head. She sits up nicely and seems very durable and well made. She's bigger than the Wembley one so there is a bit of scale taken into considersation it seems. One review mentioned that her mouth doesn't have a hard lining. I personally like this and the fact that her eyes are cloth not plastic because it makes her easire to do things with and more user friendly in my mind.
All in all I think she was a great buy and I'm very pleased with the product.

3Red by Manhattan ToyAug 07, 2011

So my little boy has fallen in love with the fraggles. Bad timing, right? Not necessarily... Manhattan Toy has brought all the fraggles to life in plush form. There are good and bad sides to this.

All of the fraggles seem to be highly durable and of good quality. All of the main fraggles are here; Gobo, Boober, Wembley, Mokey, and Red. They've even gone beyond the core group to bring you Junior Gorg, Uncle Traveling Matt, and Sprocket (Unfortunately, Junior and Sprocket are more or less the same size as the fraggles). With that cast what else could you ask for?

Well, for starters, these fraggles aren't identical to their show counter-parts. They're pretty good, but just enough "off" that it bothers you. Let's take this item for instance... what's Red's most distinguishable feature? That pom-pom hair, right? And that picture looks pretty good, doesn't it? They've done a nice job making Red look good in the picture, but that's not exactly what you get. Red's hair flattens to the point that the circular pom-pom look is non-existant. I tried bringing it back by teasing it with a brush before I gave it to him but had little success. Whoever did Red up for that company picture did one heck of a job; I can't see how they're even the same doll. (Check out the photo Renee Howard uploaded and you'll see what I mean. She did a great job fixing the hair up too; it can look much worse, trust me.) I kept my mouth shut though; if my son loves it and doesn't notice then what's the big deal? Well, my son noticed. Overall I'd say he's happy with it, but he sees that Red isn't quite "Red" from the show. He even said "I want the Red in the picture" when I was reviewing my order. If he was younger he might not have noticed, but he's going to be 4 in 3 months and watches all 4 of the Fraggle Rock seasons on DVD semi-regularly.

Another company by the name of Sababa made several of the fraggles in a smaller plush form; Gobo, Boober, Wembley, Red, and the Doozers. Why did they leave out Mokey? I have no clue, but she's not there. This is a little baffling, since they decided to make the Doozers. Their versions of the fraggles look nicer than Manhattan's in my opinion, but with the absence of Mokey its hard to decide which group to go after. The Sababa fraggles are about 6 inches smaller and give you more of an "actual size" feel and the eyes are hard plastic, not plush like the Manhattan ones. On the other hand, the Doozers are more size proportioned to the bigger ones.

I can't say which ones to go with; it all comes down to personal preference. I will say that if Sababa had a Mokey I'd go with them for the fraggles and get Sprocket and Junior from Manhattan, but there really isn't an easy choice in this situation. I guess we should be happy that anyone decided to make them at all.
