I purchased this as a desktop mascot. It is of very good quality in design and workmanship as evidenced by the manufacturer's attention to details that will often be neglected in lower-quality offerings, including highlights/texture of the coat, material used for eyes (very realistic) and details of the feet. The latter is usually the best way to determine quality in any bird toy, as manufacturers often spend the least time to get the details (or even the number of toes) right. An unexpected detail are the Kiwi's "sensory feathers" around the base of the beak, simulated from spun nylon, which is not apparent in the picture. The actual product when received actually looked more realistic than the picture. The body can be pivoted on its legs to allow it to balance on most surfaces. Unlike the actual Kiwi, this one does not have wings. The beak is material-filled and since it is long, should be handled gently to preserve its shape. It may therefore get bent if handled carelessly. Due to its use as a desktop display by adult, I did not rate it for fun, educational value or durability.

This was a gift. There is not many Kiwi animals out there and this exceeded by expectations. It really represents an actual Kiwi and it extremely well made.
