One of the best plush meerkats avaiableDec 21, 2007

I have long been a meerkat fan, long before the show meerkat manor (which i love.) i have seven stuffed animal meerkats. this is definitely one of my favorites. Hansa makes very high quality (and cute!!!) animals, and is one of the better stuffed animal companies out there. the animal is probably about 10 inches in height, give or take (i'm estimating) and thin, but large enough to cuddle, particularly for a child. A lot of detail and work went into this plush toy, and it is a cut above the average stuffed animal you'd find at the average store. One final note, the picture on Amazon.com of this animal DOES NOT do it justice. It is absolutely adorable, and much much CUTER than in the photo. i actually ordered a different Hansa meerkat and this one arrived by accident but it was so cute, i kept it and haven't looked back.

I got this for a school project for my son. It's the centerpiece of his Meerkat presentation, and it's perfect. The only way to make it more realistic looking would be to have it "stand" on its feet instead of "sit", but the pictures of "standing" meerkats I found for sale look far too fake.
In spite of what an earlier review said, it WILL stand on its own, on flat or less-than flat platforms (it was shipped to my work address, so I had it sitting on my cubicle wall "guarding" my desk all day; for the project it's sitting on a small log).
It appears to be durable. The arms (paws) are sewn to the body.

Realistic looking. Only complaint is that it falls over and doesn't stand on its own. Overall though it was a good purchase.

"animal lover"
bought this for my grandson who has an imagery meerkat living in his home. this is so life- like. It is the best one , and made very welll.
