Cute, but not so plush!Nov 13, 2010

This was a gift for my sons 2nd birthday. He was into penguins and soft toys so this was a no brainer. I found this one online, good size, looks cute and I love natural fibers. But over time, 6 months, the filling has condensed quite considerably and he's a pretty floppy, lop-sided penguin now. And DO NOT WASH this guy! Unlike the polyester filled plush toys that, even though they say 'surface washable only' they still actually wash up in the machine just fine, this one doesn't! It took hours in the dryer and several days sitting in the sun to properly dry. Due to the natural fibers inside I think. However, my son still loves him. His name is Weezy now, after the penguin in Toy Story, which goes to show that the kids just love what they love no matter what it looks like!
