Too RealAug 27, 2006

"Roger"
My Mothers favorite even if it's the only stuffed animal she has. It reminds her of a passed Pet Dachshund. Mothers visitors are taken back by the realism, on their first meeting they don't realize it's a toy until it hasn't moved for a few moments.

Cute and RealisticJan 30, 2010
By Hannah When I got this, I wasn't expecting what I got. When I got the box, it was very small, and I suddenly thought the dog would be small too. But when I took the dog out, I was very pleased! The whole plush "unfolded" and it looked the same as the dog in the picture! I was impressed with how realistic the dog looked, and it would make an awesome gift for anyone.

Awesome DachshundOct 16, 2009
By Isabelle I got this as a gift. The quality of fur is very nice, and the dog is absolutely adorable (which can't be said for half of dachshund stuffed animals out there, in my opinion). The body is firm enough to stand on its own. My only complaint is that the fur "grows" on this stuffed animal in the wrong direction - so when you pet the dog, you have to go from back to front.

SooooCuteApr 14, 2011
By Zingo14 For Christmas my husband's little sister said she wanted a stuffed dachshund, so I did an online search and found a good number of options. But after looking at the close-up photos, this one had the most realistic face. We got the black/tan version, and it looks amazing! It's pretty big, and seems to be good quality. She was very excited when she opened it and it was just what she wanted. Everyone was surprised we found such a good looking stuffed toy, let alone a dachshund!

Great dachshund but...Jan 29, 2011
By doglover01 I've owned dachshunds all my life and also have a collection of other Douglas Cuddle Toy dog breeds. Though their dachshund is the most representative stuffed animal of the breed that's on the market right now, there are some parts of it that bother me...especially when comparing the dachshund to how closely the other dog breeds compare to their real life counter parts. The stuffed dachsund's chest juts out awkwardly and travels down to the floor in a massive curve that looks quite unfortunate. The picture online of Spats doesn't portray how exaggerated it actually is. Dachshunds are not THAT funnily propotioned. The snout is fatter in proportion to the rest of the face in comparison to how real dachshunds' snouts are. Also, it's a very stiff stuffed animal in relation to all the other Douglas products. I don't need the dog to be floppy with no sense of substance, but for goodness sake the toy is too big and fluffy for it to not give more when you hug it. It's like a statue (All other Douglas dogs are great in the snuggling, more floppy category). I truly don't think anyone has done this breed justice yet, but the Douglas version will have to do for now.
